Deployment

CAMEOSE is currently deployed on-premises and/or through a cloud based solution. The primary database is PostgreSQL and options for utilizing a Microsoft SQL Server database is also available.

Much of the data management and processing is done at the database level and we offer a front-end interface in Microsoft Access to help interact and input data. CAMEOSE has a stable backend database and also contains many "CANNED" views aka snapshots, datasets, etc. These views provide the base level data for business intelligence reporting, dashboards and visualization. Therefore, the process of using software applications such as Power BI, Tableau, etc. is easy.

CAMEOSE is currently testing feasibility for web and mobile deployment using the Django Framework.

Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)

This is a diagram of the hierarchy within CAMEOSE that allows for the facilitation and support of a project's WBS.

Work Breakdown Structures

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is akin to the skeletal system of a human being. Just as the skeletal system gives form or shape to the body and allows for the body to maintain its balance, in the same way, the WBS gives order, shape and supports the project.

Capital projects across different business segments implement Work Breakdown Structures differently. The nature of the WBS for a highway project will be very different from that of an industrial facility. The size and costs of a project also determine the depth or the level of details in the WBS that the project may wish to drill into.

CAMEOSE facilitates the development of a WBS for stakeholders and has its own native hierarchy to ensure that a WBS is well supported.

From a construction perspective, the critical piece of information that is needed in the WBS is the "location" and "commodity code".

Quantitative Analysis

Work Breakdown Structures

Work Breakdown Structures

Quantitative Analysis of capital projects has many aspects. It involves the knowledge of what is needed to build i.e materials, the amount of it required and the unit of measure that will be used to represent it.

While these terms seem primitive and we have been quantifying things since creation, it is still an area where the focus is vital, as poor quantification methods and approaches on projects lead to headaches.

Our team has solid experience in material take-offs from CAD environments, manual take-offs from drawings for the civil, mechanical, piping and electrical disciplines.

Quantities in CAMEOSE are hosted at "Tag" levels and bound to Control Budget work packages. The tags are managed efficiently, which helps quantify different cost buckets.

We firmly believe in this well-known industry motto;

"What gets measured, gets managed!".

Estimating

Advanced Work Packaging

Our team can facilitate the creation of accurate estimates by working with known individuals in the industry.

CAMEOSE allows for the creation of rough estimates and these come in very handy during project execution when projects realize that some estimating scopes are missing or some need to be re-evaluated.

CAMEOSE also has the ability to organize estimates into smaller discipline-specific work packages.
